THE PAHIATUA CEMETERY
SUGGESTED IMPROVEMENTS. The following report of a meeting of the Cemetery Committee, held at the Mangatainoka Cemeterv on Thursday 10th N -comber. 1938. was presented at Monday's meeting of the Borough Council: “Present,: Cr. J. E. Murphv (chairman). Cr. T. W. Watts and the secretary (Mr L. I). Lovelock). “It was resolved that the following works be carried out: “Tool shed; To renew the facings and repair decayed portions of the tool shed. “Destructor: To convert an iron tank into a. furnace for the destruction of papers, old wreaths, etc. The tank is at present at the Borough y ard. “Lids for rubbish tins: To havn lids made for rubbish tins. “Light hand roller: That the workmen be instructed to make a light concrete hand roller. “Metalling paths: That the Council be ask?d to make the truck and driver available for the purpose of delivering metal to the newjv-formed paths at the Cemetery, the'metal to be obtained from the river-bed at Mangatainoka. •Tar-sealing newly-formed paths: That the new paths when metalled and consolidated be tar-sealed. “Cemetery cottage: That three electric light points be installed where required. It was also decided to obtain paint for the completion of the painting of the cottage. 5 ' The report was adopted.
