AMERICA’ FLEET

TO BE WORLD’S MIGHTIEST MAY HAVE 10,006 FIRST LINE PLANES. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright WASHINGTON, Now. 6. The Press gives credence to reports that President Roosevelt has decided to ask Congress to authorise one of the world's mightiest air fleets, numbering at least 7000, and possibly 10,000, first-line planes. It is also reported that the President has plans for the reequipment of 400,000 regular soldiers and national guardsmen, and for hastening the organisation and equipment of a million reserves, capable of taking the held within a tew months in the event of war.

The President is also to order a speeding-up of the battleship construction programme and the re-opening of the Great War emergency plants, which were closed after the Armistice. The navy is immediately reequipping its West Virginia ar-mour-plate factory and re-epen-ing its New Orleans naval yard.
