FORGING AHEAD

An indication of the remarkable progress made by the British motor industry in overseas markets during the past few years is the fact that during 1937 private cars and chassis to the value of over nine million pounds were shipped abroad —an increase in units of no less than 78 per cent, compared with 1934. For the same period, exports ol Morris. Wolseley and M.G. ears, handled of course by “M.1.E.,’ wore 98 per cent, up on those of tluee years previously. At the end of the first eight weeks of 1938, combined overseas orders for Morris, Wolseley, M.G. and Morris-Con mercial units received by “M.1.E.” were approximately 17 per cent, more numerous than during the corresponding period of last year.
