ELABORATE PRECAUTIONS
SAFETY OF KING AND QUEEN United Press Jtssn.—By Electric Telegrnnh—Cmwriirht. LONDON, June 21. Elaborate precautions are being taken to ensure the safety of the King and Queen on the occasion of the unveiling of the Australia War Memorial at Villers Bretonneux on July 1. Each of thousands attending ibe ceremony will be subjec t t <; the closest examination, the French police demanding two photographs of each and a complete guarantee of unimpeachable character. Thirty-five hundred guests and others must be seated at the memorial two hours before the arrival of their Majesties, after which they will not be allowed to move.
While the police scour the countryside 11,000 troops will be posted shoulder to shoulder, facing both wave, two miles from Villers station to the memorial. The polio' are doing their utmost to check up on every arrival m the district. Hotel registers are being watched, and persons not satisfying the investigation are being arrested immediately.
