After formal business had been dealt with and arrangements made for the visit of the Masterton debaters next week it was decided to adjourn as a token of respect te the memory of the late Dr. H. T. Dawson, vice president of the society It was announced that the speakers for Masterton on the all-engrossing political subject—Germany’s lost colonies—will be Messrs W. Bradv (leader), W. O. Orange, and W. Green. The local society will be represented by Messrs I) K Salter (loader), A. W. Cat the w, and Sefton, Walsh. Masterton will take the affirmative: “That Germany should be restored her lost colonies.'’ It promises to be a highly spirited debate as there aro good, solid arguments on either side The visiting debaters will be afterwards entertained at supper. Masterton has advised that there will be at least three car-loads of debaters and. others interested.
