NEW OFFICE IN PAHIATUA REPORT OF SPECIAL COMMITTEE. The special committee set up to consider tlie question of inadequate accommodation at Pahiatua for offices and showroom, formed by Messrs-J. 1). Wilson P. Davies, W. Britland and A. W. Bisset, made the following recommendations to the Power Board yesterday: “That this committee, being impressed with the inadequacy of office and showroom accommodation on the Main Street, Pahiatua, makes the following recommendations to the Board: (1) That the Board acquire that portion of land on the Alain Street, Pahiatua, between Air J. D. Wilson’s property and the old Troeadero, having a frontage of 49 feet, with the intention to build thereon three sale shops, one to be occupied by tlie Board and two for letting; (2) that Air A. W. Bisset collect all useful information as to area and price, with power to secure an option over the property for three months oil a deposit of 10s; (3) that the secretary-manager consult with Mr F. H. Daniels, of Alasterton, with the object of obtaining a rough estimate of the cost of building; (4) that the secretary-manager make out a case for submitting to the Public Works Department showing the necessity for the scheme and the financial aspect of the proposition.” The report was referred back to the committee, Mr Brechin's name being added to the personnel.
