One of the. worst outbreaks of violent crimes for many years occurred in Sydney at the week-end Four men were stabbed in two different affrays and will probably die. Pour other men were shot in two underworld feuds and one man was battered by a thug. There wi re a number of smash and grab raids in the city. Two constables were injured, one critically, when a motor cycle crashed into a brick wall during a chase.
