POPULAR YOUNG LADY
PARTIES FOR MISS EUNKT CHATWIN.
Aliss Eunice Chatwin’s marriage to Mr Les Truscott on Easter Monday has been responsible for numerous parties in honour of this popular young lady. A pautrv tea was given recently at ihe residence ol Mrs AlRobertson bv Alt sdauies Robertson anu W. I-. Tattle when some 50 ladies were present. A delicious savoury tea was served by the hostesses and items were rendered by Airs MiIlines (pianoforte solo). Misses Junker and Chatwin (.vocal), and Aliss Erud Taylor (elocutional y). A wordbuilding competition was von by Airs W. 11. Purdie. The opening of the parcels was a most interesting event and Aliss Chatwin was delighted with the fine array of appropriate gifts therein.
Yesterday Mrs W. D. Taylor s residence. AI allgatai nok a, v. as tin* scene of a gii L afternoon when Aliss Chatwin’s friends assembled in force for a gilt afternoon organised by Alesdames W. D. Taylor. Eric Scandrett and Simon Purvis. On arrival the guests were welcomed in the drawing room at “Alironui” after which they enjoyed a stroll around the boautnui garuen. A most delicious alter noon tea was served in the dining-room by the hostesses and then everyone adjourned to the drawing room where Aliss Chatwin had a very busy time opening a large and varied assortment of parcels, each containing something for her home. Aliss Chatwin made a charming little speech in acknowledgment of the expressions of goodwill. An interesting story competition embodying different makes of motor cars was won by Aliss .0. Chatwin, of Wellington.
