WOODVILLE PICTURES
“Alan of the People,” winch screens at th e Cosy Theatre, Woodville, on Thursday night, describes the adventures of a poor boy who rises to the position of district attorney in a crime-ridden city. He rebels against the whitewash system which protects favourites and is forced to resign. The- Governor of the State puts him in charge of an investigating committee and he uncovers corruption in a huge corporation. He prosecutes the case despite all opposition and eventually wins out. Joseph Calleia turns from his tfcual villain roles to play the hero in this production and is supported by Florence Rice, Ted Healy and Thomas Mitchell.
