£I,OOO FOR LABOUR PARTY BALLOT AMONG P. AND T. STAFFS. Electric Telegraph—Pi ess Association HASTINGS, Last Night. The Labour Party may shortly benefit from a donation of £IOOO from the Xew Zealand Post and Telegraph Employees’ Association. The question of making the gift will be decided by ballot among association members, of whom there are about 10,000 throughout the Dominion. Rumours that a ballot to consider the donation would be held were confirmed by a reporter when he approached the vice-president of the association. Mr T. Falconer, in Hastings. The question ot a donation of £IOOO to the general funds of the La hour Party will be the subject of a ballot at a comparatively early date, Mr Falconer stated It is understood that every member of the association will be asked to vote simply “Yes - ’ or ‘‘No.’’ SITTING MEMBERS ENDORSED. WELLINGTON, Last Night. At a recent meeting of the national executive of the Xew Zealand La hour Party the following silting members of Parliament were endorsed as the party's candidates for the next election:—Messrs C A. Barrell, Hamilton ; Ormond Wilson. Rangitikoi; James Thorn. Thames ; Hon. W. l ie Martin. Raglan : Mr C. H. Burnett, Tauranga; Hon. W. 'Nash, Hutt. Members of the party are now :«e----iug asked to choose the party’s candidates in the following electorates: Kiccarton, Wellington Suburbs. Pahiatua. Motneka and Central Otago. Selection ballots are now being taken.
