A start oh the erection of the New Zealand Farmers’ Distributing Company’s new building was made in Pahiatua yesterday by Messrs Nicliolls and Galloway. The building, which will be an imposing brick and concrete structure worthy of the town, is to be finished at the end of November. At the annual meeting of the Tararua Dairy Company Messrs C. Meng and j. B. Tail made reference to the possibility of the collection of milk as well as cream for conveyance to the factory. Tt was .stated that there was a. possibility of a. practical method being discovered in the future, but at present there was nothing in evidence which would enable the collection of milk to be made'. A Public Works grader commenced tearing up the tar-sealing at the Woodville entrance to Pahiatua yesterday afternoon. This is the preliminary to the re-sealing work in the Main Street, a job which the Borough Council originally planned to do under Government subsidy, but one which now will be undertaken by the Highways Board subsequent to the taking over by the latter of all the main highways.
