Believed to be the longest duel in history was fought by Chief-engineer Zboropjnj and Dr. Prueler, a fencing expert. The due l lasted for two and a-half hours. They used light cavalry sabres and both were wounded early in the combat and. again in the twelfth round when the seconds wanted to stop the fight which continued until the fifty-first when it was declared ended owing to the exhaustion of the duellists. The duel originated over an argument at a meeting.
