Tommy Farr sparred three rounds, jolting his opponents with consistent lefts. He appeared at his fastest since he opened his training. manager, Mr Broadribb, said: “Farr looks grand and is as fine as a razor. I am confident he is going t<> win.” Farr will have a light work-out with the bags on Tuesday, after which he will rest until Thursday. Excitement was caused by the sudden appearance in the ring of Max Baer, who shouted to the crowd: 4 ‘Farr can’t punch to lick. He can t hit as hard as a fly.” Farr replied : “I knocked you once and will do so again now.” Mr Broadribb and the ring attendants separated the pair before blows could be struck and persuaded the two to shake hands. A Pomp ton Lakes message reports that Joe Louis hammered three sparring partners at an impressive workout in which he frequently knocked down his opponents. He will conclude his training with six rounds of sparring on Tuesday. Schmeling, who was a spectator, said: “Farr’s only chance is a win on points. I don’t think he can knock out Louis.” Schmeling added that he saw several weaknesses in Louis’ technique and expressed that lie could knock him out quicker than before if given a; chance.
