Air increase of three-quarters of a million pounds in Hawke’s Bay s wool cheque lor the season just closed compared with the 1935-36 season is disclosed by: an examination of the returns of the Napier sales. The increase can lie attributed to- a< livelier demand and more elastic limits set by oversea buyers, and the estimate ol receipts for the se*ason by growers show s Hie cheque to have .totalled £2,387.<X)(). The following table shows the number of bales sold and the revenue produced at the four wool sales held at Napier during Hie past season :
