PARALYSIS PRECAUTIONS.

PALMERSTON SCHOOLS CLOSED. TWO MORE CASES NOTIFIED. All schools —primary, secondary and private—in Palmerston North have been closed until further notice on account of the infantile paralysis epidemic at the request of the Director of Education, Air N. T. Lam bourne. Country pupils who travel by train and bus to the Technical School were not required to attend this morning, others being required to be present for the receipt of books and instructions. Over - the week-end two further cases of infantile paralysis were notified to the health authorities. The first, a boy aged 13, is suffering from slight paralysis and the second is a boy aged seven from Levin. Both have been admitted to the Palmerston North Hospital for observation and have not yet been diagnosed as positive. SUSPECT AT WAIPUKURAU. Electric Telegraph—Press Association WAIPUEURAU, April 17. A suspected case of infantile paralysis is reported from the Waipukulau Public Hospital. The patient, a girl aged seven, is the first suspect to have been reported in the town. She was admitted to hospital on Thursday. It is understood that the case has not yet been certified as a positive one. ANOTHER MASTERTQN CASE. AIASTERTON, Last Night. Only one further case of infantile paralysis was notified in Wairarapa over the week-end,, the patient being a boy aged 15 years from Alasterton who was admitted to the Alasterton Hospital on Saturday afternoon. Of the nine cases now in h-ospital five have been diagnosed as positive, iiicluding the latest patient, who just returned from a holiday in Grevtown, where he took ill. AIAORr INFANT A SUFFERER. GISBORNE, Last Night. One case of infantile paralysis, a two and a half-year-old Alaori girl, was reported from Nuhaka during the week-end. The patient was removed to the Wairoa Hospital. CASE IN WELLINGTON. WELLINGTON, Last Night. Only one case of infantile paralysis was admitted to the Wellington Hospital during the week-end, this being a boy of five years from Lower H ntt. Another case admitted vesterday afternoon, a girl aged five years, from Island Bay, proved negative,
