YESTERDAY’S WEATHER.

SHARP FROST THIS MORNING. Yesterday was bitterly cold for the greater part of the day, a fall of snow being recorded on the hills at Mt. Bruce. The sun broke through for a short period in the late afternoon, but this did not compensate for the previous wintry conditions. At nightfall the temperature dropped again, rather unduly, and m consequence of this many local residents covered up their flowers and vegetable's in anticipation of a frost. The foreboding proved to be right for Jack Frost made his appearance during the night clothed in a coat of substantial white raiment. recorded at 5.8 degrees. Many sleepers spent an uncomfortable night and those who had neglected to cover their garden were also somewhat rueful.
