BICYCLES LIKE FLIES.
“It is easy to talk about the registration of bicycles in Christchurch : it would be just as easy to set out to kill all the flies in Christchurch.”, This remark was made by Councillor E. Parlane at a meeting of the Christchurch CityCouncil when the registration of blades was being discussed. The trouble would be to enforce whatever form of registration was adopted, lie said. It would take an army of inspectors and cost the council far more than anyone expected.
