NEGLIGENCE PROVED.
AGAINST SEAFARER DRIVER. Electric Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON. Last Night. On a charge of negligent driving on the Hutt Road on September 14, Percy William Lyon was fined £3 and costs by Mr Raymond Ferner. S.M.. in the Magistrate’s Court. Wellington, yesterday. it was stated by Senior-Sergeant J. Dempsey that defendant was a sea-going man on leave of absence, who hired a motor-car. He had pulled out to the right to pass a n'otorcycle combination, but he did not allow sufficient room and struck it. Ho stopped at once, returned, and subsequently paid the cost of the damage to the cycle, which was thrown on to its side
