GANGER RESEARCH.

NEW THEORY AS TO CAUSE. NOT LIVING ORGANISM AFTER ALL. United Press Assn —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, September 28. Chosen from the Cancer research workers of 45 countries to receive tho first international prize of £350 and radium worth £3OO, Professors B. L. Eennaway and J. W. Cook, of the Royal Cancer Hospital, London, stated they thought cancer was caused by a chemical change in the body, not by a living organism. “AVe converted some normal constituents of the body into cancerproducing productions," they stated. “We have reached a working hypothesis that the disease may be caused by a biochemical process taking the wrong turning and creating a product which acts on tho cells and forms cancer. If we could find why, we would then probably prevent it.” Both hastened to warn that no cure had been found.
