ROVERS WIN RUSSELL CUP. LAST NIGHT S TOURNAMENT. The annual tournament for Russell Cup was played by senior clubs of the Bush Basketball As so chi bion last night, when some fast and exciting pay was evidenced. Rovers went through without defeat and won the clip by a clear mangm. On August 5 the Bush Aissooiation will play the Central Hawkes Bay team at Jfannevirke, and the winning team will participate in the tournament at Christchurch at the end of August. Later a “B” team will play a visiting Fox ton team, and in order to pick both representative teams there will be a trial game at the Town Courts on Wednesday July 22 (if wet in the Drill Hall) where the following senior players are asked to assemble at 2 p.m : Goals: M._ Mabey. E. Miller. G. King, M. Wills, R. Aston, H. Kershaw, J. Peterson, O Boyd. Centres: Lovell, A,. Davies, S. Scott, J. Heiiry, M. Miller, M. Gunn. M. Smith, A. Johnston. Defence: N. Eitz, A. Mabev, Y. Wills, R. .Peebiles, B. Smith, R. Wallds., M. Monton, L. Brown. A full set of Waratahs and Athletic uniforms will be at the courts for the girls to change WEDNESDAY S GAMES.
Fixtures have been drawn up for Wednesday as under:— JUNIORS. Athletic v. Convent I p.m. at the Town Court:Woodvillo v High School, 3.30 at Wood vide Possibles v. Probable practice, at Town Courts 2 p.m.
