HOUSE RESUMES TO-DAY.
FINANCE BILL WEDNESDAY. After a winter recess of nearly six weeks, Parliament will resume today at the usual time of 2.30 o’clock. In view of important legislation and business to come before the House during coming months this portion of the session is likely to be exceptionally busy. A caucus of Government members was held yesterday morning to consider the first part of the legislative programme, and it was expected to continue until well on in the afternoon. Th o Minister of Finance (the Hon. W. Nash) said yesterday that the Finance Bill providing for the restoration of wages and salaries to the 1931 level would be introduced in tho House on Wednesday afternoon. He would not indicate the precise terms of the Bill when questioned o nthe point, but lie made it clear that employees not affected by the 1931 cuts were not included within the scope of the measure. It provided lor the restoration of cuts and not for increases, said Mr Nash. Questioned about the probable date of the Budget, Mr Nash stated that it would be presented in about a fortnight or three weeks.
