SWAGGER'S DEATH.

ON TAUT AN E STATION. An old man named Henry MeKegnoy, tged 72. a swagger, who obtained a living by working on stations, was yesterday morning found dead at the back of Tautane station, in a valley between the homestead and Wimbledon road, death apparently having taken place about two hours previously. /The discovery of deceased's body, with a swag alongside of it. w;us made by Mr J. W. Morrison, manager of the estate, who was investigating why some cattle had been disturbed. Deceased, who was born in Feudaltoil. and who. so far as is known has no relative's in this district, had walking across eountrv from tin* Wairarapa, where he had been previously employed. It is believed that deceased suffered from a weak heart. 1 h<‘ body was brought into the Danuevirke morgue. An inquest was to l>e held this afternoon.
