Crewe ting an auction sale of furniture, etc., on account of Mrs E. M. Smith, who is giving up housekeeping. The sale takes place next Wednesday. Full particulars appear on page 8. The staff of the Tararua Electric Power Board invited the members of the Board at yesterday s meeting to attend a dinner at the Commercial Hotel on Monday evening next in honour of Mr J. Or. Green. who is shortly leaving the district. At yesterday’s meeting of tho Tararua Electric Power Board it was decided to employ Mr A. G. Ford, of the Opunake Power Board, as maintenance engineer for tho Pahiatna area at a salary of £3OO per annum. All anglers are invited to attend the meeting of the Pahiatua subcommittee of the Wellington Acclimatisation Society, advertised for this evening. The main business will be to discuss a new proposal regarding liberation of fry in tlie district. A representative muster of licenseholders is desirable as the decision of the meeting will be filial.
