Electric Telegraph—Press Association K LAND, Lasf S In sp'to of the Government’s decision to prohibit the importation of wheat a shipment of 4000 tons from Australia was landed by the Kairanga at Auckland on Thursday last. A circular issued by the Auckland merchants states that this was importe d by the Government to supply local mills. The circular states it is understood that the wheat would be used by the Auckland mills to strengthen New Zealand flour which had recently shown signs of weakness.
