WOMEN’S INSTITUTE.

PON GAHO A MEETIN G. At the June meeting of tin Pollgaroa. Women’s Institute there was an excellent attendance and three new members wore enrolled. It was decided to purchase material lor trav cloths for the local hospital also os worth cA Anzac stamps. Rakaunui Institute will amalgamate with- this branch, next month in a combined meeting when there w il! be a demonstia tion on pa pier . macho. The rod-call was “children’s funny sayings.” and the monthly competitions were “boys’ trousers.” and “puff pastry.” The results were: Alesdames Mayman and Scctt Ist and 2nd and Mrs Kent Ist and Airs Jensen and Aliss Kent tied for 2nd respectively. The social part included an instructive talk on “first a.,id by Dr. Fongerj- and a pianoforte duet. “Route en train,” by Misses D. and E. Kent Hostesses for the meeting were AlEsdamos Jensen, Scott and Donovan. Meetings iu future will commence at 2.30 p.m.
