ABYSSINIAN TROUBLES.
SPA UK WOULD START REVOLT. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON. February 12. The Smi-Ht raid says that rumours of internal disturbances m Abyssinia support the belief of English and French observers that the German militarists viewpoint that Italy is already beaten is premature. General Baratrir, in an article in Le Temps, says the* war is entering a new stage, in which the battles will become more frequent than before the rains, with unpredictable results, and he asks will the Abyssinians grow tired o-f a. prolonged conflict which is something new to their history P The Dajly Mail’s Djibouti correspondent agrees that if the Italians prolong the war it will effect the complete di.si integration of the country. There was no real central command and no real patriotism among the chiefs, and although they were fighting valiantly, their allegiance to the Emperor is waning as then exchequer empties. The pay of officials, teachers and the Imperial guard is already months in arrears and the peasants are starved to feed the army. A spark would ignite a revolt.
