On instructions from his Government.. th<- United States Charge d Affaires has assured the Foreign Secretary or the sincere gratitude rt liis Government for the efforts of his Majesty's Govcrmnent in the United Kingdom, iri the Commonwealth of Australia, and in New Zealand. on behalf of the lost American explorers, Mr Ellsworth •nd Mr Mol lick Kenyon, who were rescued in the Antarctic by the I{oval Research ship Discovery 11. The* Charge cF Affaires said that the effective work of those on hoard the Discovery 11. was deeply appreciated m the United -States. The generous assistance given to the airman by the British Grahamland Expedition was similarly ackn cw Jed ged. The Discovery TT. is expected at Melbourne on Friday. She will resume her scientific work after- leaving Melbourne on or about March 2.
