OBITUARY.

The death is reported from Mairlborough of ail old resident of the district, Mrs Jane Chamberlain Sutton, at the age of 73. Coming to New Zealand at an early age with her parents in the sailing ship CiceJia, she settled in Nelson until the death of her parents, when she moved to Marlborough. Later she ■was married to Mr Francis Sutton, living for many years in the AVaikakaho Valley and subsequently at Mt. Pleasant. On the death of her husband in 1919 she removed to Newman, Wairarapa, with her only brother, who predeceased her by only a few months. Twelve months ag<> she suffered from a severe illness, recovering >nly sufficiently to enable her to return to the Marlborough district. Mrs Sutton is survived by a family of eight sons, Messrs K. W. Sutton (Foxton), H. .J. Sutton (Waiuku), G. I. J. and •T. I). Sutton (Mahakipawa), .J. (*. Sutton (Blenheim), ( . G. R. Sutton (Napier), S. A. Sutton (Eketahuna) and A. J. L. Sutton (Hastings), md five daughters, Mesdames H. 1). Western (Pic-ton), I*. Ryan (H amiltori). C. B. (’ooper (Newman) H. (). Kquire (Tna Marina) and Miss Ij. Sutton (Wellington). There are also 2K grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
