SUPPLEMENTARY CATTLE FAIR

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd. report on the Supplementary Cattle hair held at Pahiatua yesterday when a good yarding of cattle came forward to a fair attendance of buyers. Buyers were present from Hawke’s Bay, Alanawatu. Wairarapa, and Levin districts. Some good lines of bullocks came forward which sold up to late rates. Younger steers were in short supply and sold at late rates. Their principal sales were:—26 3-yr Hereford steers £7 6s; 29 2-yi Hereford steers £6 8s; 11 bullocks £8 4s: 9 bullocks £7 16s; 18 P.A. vearling steers £4 ISs 6d • 2 1-yr P.A. £6 10s; coloured steers £4 to £4 5s ; 9 fat cows £5 5s ; 5 fat heifers £6 : 15 P.A. heifers r.w. P.A. hull £4 17s 6d ; 1 5-yr P.A. bull 9gns, 1 at Signs, 1 at 7£gns; 7 fat cows £7 ss; 5 fat cows £6 15s; others £5 12s 6d, £2 18s 6d ; Jersey heifers £2 10s ; store dairy cows £2 lOs, 31s, 31s 6d.

PRICES FIRM. Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd. have to report on their Supplementary Cattle Fair when they submitted 450 head of well-bred cattle to a good attendance of the public, buyers being present from Wairarapa-, Alanawatu, Hawke’s Bay and Wanganui. Their sjieeiai entry of Aohanga, bullocks topped the market for store cattle the jh*ii of 42 Hereford bullocks realising £8 10s while the 3-yr steers made £7 10s and £7 11s. A very nice pen ot 3-yr P.A. steers oil account of H. Cotter realised £7 17s. while a. good pen of black heifers on account of P. A. Bisset made £4 19s. The following is a list of their principal realisations; On account Aohanga Station. 37 Hereford bullocks £8 10s. 5 Hereford bullocks £8 ss, 3 P.A bullocks £8 7s 6d, 35 do. £7 lOs, 37 do. £7 10s. 1 do. £5 10s, 38 do. £7 11s. 21 do £7 10s 6 do. £6 lOs, 2 do. £5 Bs, 3 do £3.

On account H. Cotter, 18 3-yr P.A. steers £7 17s, 30 2-vr do. £G 7s, 8 do. £6 6s, 5 P.A. cuw s £4 10s, 5 fat cows £5 11s.

On account J. Dick, 5 fat heifers (light) £5, 1 fat cow £5 13s 6d. On account I). O’Brien, 2 fat bullocks £7 17s 6d, 3 fat cows £3 3s, 6 fat bullocks £8 17s 6d, 2 do. £7 lOs. I lat heifer £7 ss. On account P. A. Bisset, 29 2-vr P.A. heifers £4 19s, 4 1-yr young heifers £2, 2 l-vr steers £5 15s. Oil account lan Taylor, 58 l-vr P.A. steers £4 14s, 9 steers £4 12s.

On account T. Biggar, 7 cows (dairy) £1 12s 6d, 4 cows (dairy) £2 10s.
