THE GREAT PYRAMID.

'ITS DIVINE MESSAGE. INTERESTING DECTUB E. Upwards of forty people, many of them ladies, attended a most interesting lantern lecture in the Mayfair Hall last Friday evening given l>v Hr. of Ota lii , on the subject of ‘‘The Great Pyramid” and its Hi vine message. Mr G. H. Hodd presided and in introducing the lecturei said it gave him much pleasure to do so. Hr. Milne, he said, was a great enthusiast in the Israelite movement, a movement which, throughout the world, was steadily progressing. In opening his address, Hr. Milne said: This is an age w hen many, for pseudo-scientific reasons, do not believe the message of salvation by Jesus Christ offered in the Bible. It is such an age of materialism that few are aware of the great spiritual forces which are behind history.

The Great Pyramid gives independent evidence of the truth of the Bible. The Bible itself says in Isaiah 19:19, 20: “In that day shall there be an altar to the Hold in the midst of the land of Egypt and a pillar at the border thereof to the Lord. Ancl it shall be for a* sign and for a witness unto the Bold of Hosts in the land of Egypt.** The great Pyramid is in the midst of the land of Egypt, situated as it is at the apex of the Delta, and separating Upper from Lower Egypt. At the same time, it is at the border of the land, for it lies between the cultivated land of the Nile and the Sahara Desert. NOT A TOMB. The Great Pyramid is different from all other Pyramids in the nature of its passages. The passages of the other pyramids are subterranean only, while in the Great Pyramid there are also passages in the masonry. The complicated nature of these passages is against the theory that the Great Pyramid was built for a tomb. The chief obstacle to this theory is the granite plug which blocks the entrance of the ascending passages. Its nature and position shows that it was built in, and thereafter, all access to the passages was from above. The only hieroglyph in the pyramid is that of Khuiu. dated seven years before lie died, placed at the top of the highest chamber Half of the pyramid still remained to be built, so that lie could not have been buried there. Present access to the upper passages is through a forced entry. ASTRONOMICAL GRAPH. Another peculiar feature of the Great Pyramid is the hollowing in of the sides, clearly shown by an air photograph. The surfaces of other pyramids are plane. The amount of this hollowing in, shown by a simple plan at the base, defines the solar and the astronomical years the cycle of procession of the equinoxes, the mean distance between the sun and the earth, and, indeed, every variable quantity of the earth in its orbit. A factor of 286.1 pyramid inches defines the hollowing in which makes these indications possible, ancl becomes a factor in creative science.

PYRAMID INCH. The Pyramid inch is one-thous-andth part longer than the British inch, and is shown to be derived from the geometery of the year circle, and is itself one-000 millionth part of the diameter of the earth from pole to pole. The year circle (with circumference 365.24 inches) frequently recurs in the Pyramid. The base circuit, for example, according to certain mason’s marks on the pavement, should have been 36.524 Pvramid inches, or 100 times the length of the solar year in days. But when the builders covered the Pyramid with its smooth casino- stones, they built the circuit 286.1 inches (the displacement factor) less than the designed measure. STONE REJECTED BY BUILDER. The result was that when they were near the top, it was impossible to complete the apex at the required height, and the Pyramid was left unfinished, a testimony m geometrical form to that other building mistake which rejected the “headstone of the corner. lhe Pyramid is the only structure that can have a head stone of the corner. This was the error of the Jews in rejecting Christ and is the eiroi by which men have built up modern civilisation on a material basis, leaving Christ out of the building, so that there is no place for Him m the finished structure. The Great Seal of America portrays a pyramid lacking the headstone, which is descending from heaven, ready to take its place. True spiritual building is from above, Christ Himself drawing all men to Him. If Christ is the apex stone, then in the new order of civilisation, the Church (the body of Christ), then the Theocratic state, on earth, and then all nations are •built up as the Kingdom of God. DISPLACEMENT FACTOR. The displacement factor, 286.1, often recurs in the Pyramid passages, which are themselves displaced to that extent to the left of the central north ancl south vertical plane of the Pyramid. The time factor of the passages indicates the history of civilisation as six working days from 4000 B.C. to 201 A.l). TThe Descending Passage leads to the subterranean chamber called by the ancient Egyptians “The Chamber of Chaos.” At a point corresponding to the Exodus, the Ascending Passage (The Way of Truth in Darkness) corresponds to the history of the children of Israel under the law, the “schoolmaster unto Christ.” At the date of our Lord's death, the Grand Gallery is entered (The Way of Truth in Light), which is 2S6\l inches higher than the low ascending passage. This denotes that the date of Christ’s death was forekpown to God before the Pyramid was built nearly 3000 years before, and that the function of His death is to correct the displacement and to reconcile men to God. TRIBULATION. W r AR AND ECONOMIC. Corresponding to the dates of the Great War for Britain, 4th—sth August, 1914, to 11th November, 1918, is the first low horizontal passage. This gives place to the antechamber (whose length is the diameter of the year circle of 365.24 inches in cii cum faience—denoting that those days were “shortened”

by Divine agency) and on 28tli May, 1928, the second low passage is entered, which Mr Davidson in 1924 interpreted to signify tribulation of an economic nature. “REDEMPTION DRAWETH NIGH.'’ The King’s Chamber is entered on 16th September, 1936, and in this chamber for the first time since 4000 B.C. it is possible to turn to the light and traverse the 281.0 inches, which intervene between the passages and the central north and south plant. Jesus said of the tribulation of the last days, “Look up, and lift your heads, for your redemption draweth nigh.” The Pyramid shows that this is the tribulation which brings the old era to a close, and ushers in the new era. There is no indication of the date of our Lord’s return, but it is clear from the Pyramid that we must offer ourselves as “lively stones ’ to be built up a spiritual house .... acceptable to Jesus Christ.” The new order will be built only by our obedience to Jesus Christ. At the conclusion, Mr A. P. Fox asked one or two questions, at the invitation of Dr. Milne, and then, on the motion of Mr Fox, a hearty vote of thanks was passed to the visitor who acknowledged the vote and proposed cine to the chair.
