The Australian Jockey Club decided to increase the stakes for the Rand wick summer meeting by £IOOO. Two hundred and fifty pounds were added to the Summer Cup and the remaining seven hundred and fifty distributed among the minor events. The -smallest prize for a flat race will be four hundred pounds. The recent spring carnival was the most profitable- for years.
