PRICE OF STOCK.
FEILDING SALE. For the supplementary cattle fair at Feilding yesterday entries exceeded advertised numbers and despite the showery weather conditions the sale was in every respect veiy bright with free buying. The offering included some excellent pens of young run cattle which excited the interest of buyers and although odd pens failed to reach vendors’ reserves the bulk of the yarding was sold under the hammer at values in keeping with outside quotations. The tone for young cattle was particulauiv strong and vendors who met the market received good
The beef .market offered buyers a good selection of well-finished cattle and competition was active with late values fully maintained.
\he high values obtaining last week for fat sheep were not sustained yesterday when a drop ecfu.nl to last week’s sharp rise was recorded. Store sheep were yarded in fair numbers with a keen sale lor all classes. Values were firm on late rates.
Iho overseas fall in the price of butter was not reflected in the dai rv cattle sale. Good quality stock comma nded up to late rates with good competition.
