DAIRY SCHOLARSHIP.

DYNES FULTON MEMORIAL.

COTJR.se AT MASSEY COLLEGE

A letter from the editor of the Exporter was read at Tuesday’s meeting of the Pahiatua branch of the Farmers’ Union. It stated:

“Massey College Scholarships for country boys.—With the idea of assisting country boys our directors have made available a number of scholarships for the dairying course at Massey College. The first of these is to be awarded this year following an examination set by Massey College, for which entries close at the office of the Dairy Exporter, F.O. Box 1001, Wellington, on October 31.

“We are anxious that no deserving country boy should be debarred, and it struck me that either yourself, of some of your members, might know of someone eligible, who had not heard of these scholarships. I am therefore enclosing a booklet which gives full details and would be grateful if you would pass the information on to anyone to whom you think it n ight be’ of use. Should any fuither booklets be required, we will gladly forward them on request.

“I should add that there is no condition regarding subscribing to the Exporter attached to these scholarships. They are open to all country boys.

“Trusting to have your assistance.’’

Ihc scholarships have been made available by the “N.Z. Dairy Exporter newspaper firstly to commemorate in a practical manner the services rendered to the dairy industry by the late Mr Dynes Fulton, and secondly to provide an opportunity for a number of country boys with ability to take advantage of the broadening influences obtained through life at a residential agricultural college. One scholarship will be awarded each year on the results of an examination, the paper for which will be set by the Massey College authorities. Each scholarship will have a value of 100 guineas and will be tenable for two years, the winner to reside at the College throughout.
