CALF REARING.

MEETING AT SOUTH END. The annual meeting of the Ekctahuna. District group of the W airarapa Bovs’ and Girls* Agricultural Club’s Calf Rearing Competition was held recently. Mr F. Ooggin, Rongokokako, was re-elected president. Owing to his transfer to Napier, Mr V. Parsons resigned from the position of secretary. 'Fhe conditions of the competition and the prizes to Ik* awarded are tlii' last as for last year. Mr F. V'. Bryant, of Ruawhata, has been asked to undertake the duties of judging which will take place at the Eketahuna Recreation grounds on Thursday, 12th December. The committee is endeavouring to arrange for some of last year’s calves to be exhibited this year as yearlings. Within the next few weeks the people of the various school districts will lie given an opportunity to* contribute to the prize fund. It was decided that as school committee finances are very precarious an appeal to the public should this year be tried.
