FARM HOLDINGS.
FOR SINGBE UNEMPLOYED. A request that single men in developmental camips be given the same opportunity of acquiring a farm holding as that at present extended to married men was made bv Mr W. J. Broad foot (Government, Waitomo), in an urgent question he asked the Minister of Lands, Hon. Sir Alfred Ransom, in the House ot Representatives on Tuesday. Many of the single men, said Mi- Broadfoot, had done excellent, work and has shown great aptitude. Sir Alfred said that in the- camps already established the men were engager] on the definite understanding '♦that married men would have preference in the allocation of the sections. That undertaking must l>e carried out. The Small Farms Board, however, was prepared to give single men opportunities of acquiring sections under the extended scheme in the King Country for the salvaging of Crown securities.
