NEW POST OFFICE.
THE MONEY VOTED. In view of the fact that Parliament will dissolve shortly and that if the money for the new Pahiatua Post Office was not voted before it dissolved Pahiatua would perhaps not gee its Post Office, the presithe Progressive Association (Air S. K. SiddelTs) decided that immediate efforts to obtain this money
were necessary. It was decided to take a deputation to Wellington to interview the Postmaster-General and therefore a telegram was forwarded to Sir Alfred Ransom as follows: “Deputation arriving Thursday. Please arrange appointment Postmaster-General.” Advise me time.’ ’
This wire was sent away yesterday afternoon and last night Mr Siddells received a iring from Air A. W. Mulligan, private secretary to Si** Alfred Ransom, who advised that Cabinet met yesterday and passed the necessary money for the erection of the new Post Office.
He added that the PostmasterGeneral was wiring confirmation ot this to-day.
