TASMAN FLIGHT.
O HARA PLANS RETURN. Electric Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND. Last Night. Mr W. M. O’Hara the- young New Zealand airmail, who landed at Mangore aerodrome on Friday night after a flight from Gerringong beach. New South Wales, will shortly undertake a flight through the Dominion before flying back across the Tasman. He will "liiakc l the* return flight next month, when the moon is full. The airman said to-day that although he- had not had much sleep he was feeling fit and well. He has received over 500 messages of congratulation from all over New Zealand. He spent to-day visiting in Auckland and presented to Captain F. Bauer. Dutch Consul the Dutch flag which he brought from the Dutch community of Sydney. Air O'Hara has resided in Java. Dutch East Indies for a number of year* and accompanied by the Dutch Consul attended a lunch in his honour given at the home of a former resident of Java. Airmen in Sydney and Melbourne regard O'Hara's Tasman flight as a fine demonstration of good flying, excellent navigation and the aeroplane's leliability. All agree it was hard luck he should have damaged the machine oil landThg. His achievement is regarded as the more meritorious as he' is the least qualified and least experienced airman ever t«» make this flight. Nobody but a born flier could have done* so well.
Wo se** by the- yables that the sou cvf an English duke- has been sent to prison for theft. Pooh! This one appear* to have got away with :» few measly pounds. The old-fashioned method was to pinch a couple of million acres and jjive an old axe* which was considered fair payment.
