PAHIATUA CLUB. The four-ball handicap event for the Mrs Matthews Rose Bowl has now been completed, the winners being Mrs S. K. Siddells and Miss Y. Rutherford. This competition was arranged in sections, and the result of the final play-off is as fol-

Miss E. C'hatwin (34-26) and Miss E. Hoggard (31-23) beat Miss B. Anderson <36-27) and Miss .J. Crawford (28-21), 1 up at the 19th ; Mrs S. K. Siddells (2«-20 i and Miss V. Rutherford (18-14> beat Mrs C. Walker <lB-14* and Miss N. Irving (19-14), o and 4.

Final: Mrs Siddells and Miss Rutherford beat Miss C'hatwin and Miss Hoggard. 2 up. The final was very closely contested. all the players being on their game. The winners were 2 up at the 16th hole. It looked as if they would take the match at the Pines, hut Miss Hoggard saved the situation by holing out from outside the green. The present holders of the rose bowl are Mrs J. Nelson and Miss B- Swain son.

The competition played over the last two week-ends was won bv Miss B- And Tson in the junior section. No player in the senior section returned the necessary two cards.
