United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph- -Copvrigbt. MELBOURNE, October 2-». The Victoria Amateur Turf Club's spring meeting was continued at Caulfield on Saturday in fine weather. There was ail enormous attendance and the going was good. Palfresco made a remarkable effort to win the Caulfield Cup. He started on the extreme outside at the barrier and was in front ot only five horses a mile from home. He moved up from six iurlongs and took charge below the distance. Palire sco was bred by Air Sol Green and is held on lease by Air S. Kent. Che New Zealander Gay Cirt oxer the last seven furlongs in the Bur wood Handicap and won in an interesting finish. Link Divine, a solidly backed favourite, tired. Arabian Knight led always and had a comfortable win in the Gwvn Nursery. Royal Jubilee and Borneo finished strongly. The winner, the lull brother of Carnarvon, cost 300 guineas as a yearling. Dark Skv finished with a brilliant run to win the Windsor Handicap narrowly. The Now Zealanders, Red Alanfred and Araunah. were the last two home. Rod Manfred will do better later.
