A SHARP RISE.

FEILDING STOCK SALE. There was a sharp rise in the values for fat ewes and hoggets at the Feilding sale yesterday when competition was particularly active. In the case of ewes prices rose quite 3s a head on late rates. The mixed offering of store sheep included some outstanding pens of hoggets which commanded good values. particularly in the case of wether lots which made the bc-rt uric© of the season, namely. 25s Id. Some small pens of ewe s with lambs at foot sold readily up to 33s 3d. The beef market continued strong with high values operating for the heavyweight beasts w liich included an Aberdeen Angus steer at £*l4 lOs and a Holstein steer at £l4. , The store cattle market, although offering a fair xa.nge of run cattle, was unsteady with many passings m anticipation of next week's supplementary cattle fair. The tone of the dairy cattle linirket remains stiong with values steadthe better quality, lines becoming ily appreciating and competition lor stronger. MARTINBOROTJGH CATTI.K FAIR. Dalgety and Co. Ltd., report having had an exceptionally good yarding of cattle at the Mart inborough Cattle Fair on Thursday, the 17tii instant. There was a large attendance of buyers and a particularly buoyant tone was evident right through the Fair. This was the best yarding of grown cattle that had been offeied there for a long time, and buyers were not slow to realise the opportunity of securing the well bred, good conditioned bullocks that were offered. A pen of forward bullocks oil account of Air E. D. M rti*i topped the market at £8 los. while another pen on account of 11« n. A. D. McLeod realised £7 16a. The price for this season lor yeari ng steers was secured by Air A. Robinson at £5 os. There was a total clearance under the hammer at the following price>: Account Hon. A. D.
