Electric Telegraph.—PTess Association WANGANUI, Last Night. • At the Wanganui Jockey Club’s winter meeting yesterday the totalizator investments showed an increase over the corresponding clay last year, the total being £9683 lus as against £8894 10s. The judicial committee held an inquiry into the running of Transact in the- Grandstand Steeplechase and later the decision, was announced as follow's:—“Though the committee views the running of the horse with very grave suspicion and feels dissatisfied with the riding of S. Wright, they have decided to accex>t the explanation and to take no action.” Remaining results : 'Winter Oats, 6 furlongs: 9 Farmer (R. H. Morris) 1, 4 Orapai (R. Reed) 10 Rodyline (W. E Rine) 3. Won by two lengths; a length. Time. 1.13 2-5.
Century Hurdles Handicap, 14 miles: 2 High Grader (J. Walsh) 1, o Tareha 2, 4 Esteem 3. Won by 11 lengths; a length. Time, 3.11 2-5. Ralgownie Hack Handicap, 1 mile and 110 yards: 12 Manawatu (W. E, Pine) 1. 1 Werohia 2, 11 Arctic King 3. Won by a, neck; a length. Time. 1.48.
Grandstand Steeplechase, about 2 miles: 3 Cotsfield (J. Clements) 1,2 Riotous 2, 4 Royal Limond 3. Won by six lengths; eight lengths. 'lime. 3.56 1-5.
