10/- OR £SO.

NOTES CONFUSING. Electric Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, May 16. ,An advertisement yesterday stated that a firm paid away " a £SO Reserve Bank note in mistake for a ten shilling one. Tho similarity of the two notes has been the subject of adveise comment before and that there is a •real danger of confusion is revealed in a further story told to a pressman to-day. Tt is' to the effect that debt of 30s was settled on a Karori tramcar between two passengers, on the way home, one Handing over £2 in notes and the other a ten shilling one. The latter, on arriving koine, proposed to treat the family to the sight of a £SO note. He had received it that day as the first payment on a property deal. It was wot on his person but he quickly realised what had happened and he lost no time in going. to the other man’s home. This man was astonished when asked if the note was still in the house and equally surprised when he found it was £SO. as it was. This incident took place the same day as that of the advertising firm so that on Tuesday at .'east four people confused these notes.

The note advertised for has not vet turned up and it will be interesting to buo',- what adventures it geos through since it was paid over.
