WOMEN’S WORLD.
(By “Juliet.”! Alvs T. J. Bettle. of Palmerston North, who is very seriously ill, hail as her guest Miss W. Aird, of Christchurch, who was lately visiting Pahiatua. On Saturday-' Miss Aird assisted in the street corrections on behalf of Mother’s Day in Palmerston North and her efforts realised £5 17s. At the monthly meeting of the Woodville Women’s Institute last week, Airs . Harrison, of Pahiatua, gave a very instructive and interesting demonstration on laeehark, explaining in a simple manner the best method of shredding the bark from the tree, and how to drv, dye, strip and plait, and make it into useful articles, such as purses, bags and tea-cosies. A success that even surpassed last year’s brilliant function was achieved by the Nga Tawa Old GirlsWanganui Collegiate Old Boys’ Associations at their annual ball in Feilding on Friday evening and a great, deal of credit reflects on the joint secretaries, Miss Ruth Swainson and Air W. Fry, jtinr. Amongst those present from this district were Airs S. Tv. Siddells, gold lace; Airs C. O. Walker, torquoise crepe embroidery in silver, sash of silver lame; and Ariss V. Rutherford, parchment lace, corsage finished with pink roses.
