OBITUARY.
MR. WILLIAM DALRYMPLE. The many friends of Mr William Dalrymple, of South Road, Masterton. will regret to hear of liis death, which occurred this week at the Masterton Hospital. The late Mr Dalrymple, who was 72 years of age, bad only been ill for a week, his dea :h occurring after an operation. Born in Leicestershire, England, in 1832, the son of a prominent surgeon. Mr Dalrymple studied medicine before coming to New Zealand in IBR4 and soon after his arrival in this country he took up his residence in the Wairarapa, where be had lived practically all his life. For over forty years he was in the service of the Gear Meat Company. He was recognised as a splendid judge of stock. Of a quiet, retiring disposition. Mr Dalrymple possessed an extremely kindly nature and the sympathy of a wide circle of friends will be extended to the bereaved relatives. He is survived by a widow, a daughter, Mrs G. F. Elliott, Wangaehu. and three sons. Messrs John (Wellington), William and Arthur Dalrymple (Masterton). An elder daughter predeceased him six years ago.
