“THE WHITE SISTER.”
CLASSIC LOVE STORY. “The White Sister,” Metro-Gold-wyn- Ma yer’s new talking picture of F. Marion Crawford’s undying romance will be the attraction at the King’s Theatre on Saturday afternoon and evening. Helen Hayes and Clark Gable are co-starred for the first time on the screen in the classic love and a prominent supporting cast features Lewis Stone, Louise Closser Hale, Afiay Robson, Edward Arnold and Alan Edwards. In the present film M iss Hayes plays the role of ail aristocratic Italian girl who turng down the suitor of her father’s choice in favour of a young officer in the Italian Air Force. When notified of his death at the front, she enters a convent. The story rises to a sensational climax when the lover returns and finds the girl’s religious vows an obtacle to his happiness. In -addition there will he a Metrotone Newsreel and the latest Cinesound News. Patrons are asked to note that the feature picture commences at 2.30 p.m. and 8.30 n.m.
