WON £1.478 FOR 10s. An Englishwoman recently crowned a phenomenal run of luck by winning the “daily double” on the total isator. She held the only winning ticket and received £1 for her 10s. In addition, she won £66 in six 2s cross doubles, and in less than a month won over £2,000 in bets of 10s and under. To enjoy such a unique run of luck is, of course, phenomenal. Nevertheless, there are a number of people who confidently believe that their turn will come some day. Although some modern writers deplore this spirit, and declare it is typical of the present generation, there is unlimited evidence that it has forever been a trait of human nature to enjoy a “flutter.’’ A really good investment which can always he relied upon, however, is a tin of Red Shield (Dark) or Blue Shield (Medium), for they are New Zealand Tobaccos at their best and toasted to a turn t which makes all the difference. These excellent Tobaccos are obtainable everywhere at Is 7cl per twoounce tin—ajid also in one-pound canisters. They’re sure winners every time.
