J. DAY AGAIN CHAAJPIOX. The miniature rifle season in tho Rush district drew to a close last evening when a North versus South match was shot at Hukanui. Tho elect of the northern teams won b.' 1,445 to 1,427 points. Detailed score are a,s under :

BYRNE SHIELD. The Ryrne Shield matches are now over and the Alakomako Club again proved the winners, though this time by only one point from Nireaha, with Alangauiutu third. The standard of shooting was remarkably high throughout. CHAAIPION SHOT. The individual championship (con fined to scores in the Ryrne Shield matches) provided a great contest. J j Out of six shoots the aggregate of J# the best four counted. In m the shoot-off lietween the pair at ■ Hukanui last night Day emerged the S winner with a9B as against a 96 by K Heayns. This was below best form m for both men. M Day has *iow won the championship for two years in succession. MANGAAIUTU WEEKLY SHOOT. A satisfactory number turned up at f Mangamutu on Alonday night to shoot for the elusive trophy.
