DIVORCE CASE.
FORMER POXGAROA COUPLE. An undefended divorce action cam© before the Hon. Mr Justice Blair in the Palmerston North Supreme Court yesterday. Allegations of desertion and adultery were made bv George Frederick 'Johnson, taxi-driver, of Wawho sought divorce from Edith Edna Johnson, of Hastings. In evidence, petitioner said he was married on July 9, 1925 afc Daimevirke. _ They lived at l’ougaroa child was born. On July 19, 1937, she left Pongaroa followmg a quarrel, and had not return- ,• J V August of that year he slutted to \\ anganui, where he had been ever since. Toward the end of 19.31 respondent took Magistrate’s t'onrt proceedings for separation and maintenance, but no order was made. However, Fie agreed to pav lie. maintenance and it was arranged that the child should go to live with her parents. He later made a searc h of the register of births at Hastings and found. a child had been born in September. 1932, his wife being the mother. He wrote to fidelit'v S ”° ro f >l ' ed admitting ini'.
