RIOTERS PUNISHED.
THE OUTBREAKS IN PARIS, IMPRISONMENT SENTENCES. United Press Assn.—By Electric T elegraph—Copvr 1 ght. PARIS, "February 9. As a sequel to the riots three Communists were sentenced, to eight days’ imprisonment for smashing shop windows and two rioters found guilty of striking other demonstrators were sentenced respectively to three months and a fortnight in prison, the latter accused being a first offender. Four others, two of whom were Russians, received from one day to a fortnight in prison ior carrying steel bars and other prohibited weapons. The president of the police hospital, which Madame Chiappe founder, returned a cheque for £625 that the Government sent as a token ot gratitude for the treatment of accompanied by a letter saying: Tlie mourning in Paris is too deep and poignant to enable us to accept a present connected with sn ™ painful happenings.” i-2 Hare-hand, chief, of the Metropolitan Police, who was wounded, is worse, and complications are feared.
