MOTOR ACCIDENTS.
CAR PASSTNGER killed. Electric Telegraph—Press Assoeiation CHRISTCHURCH, Januarv 1. James Gibson, motor garage proprietor at Kaikoura, aged 61, was killed in a motor accident at Kaikoura early this morning. A small two-seater car driven by Francis Hendry collided with an electric power pole on the Esplanade, and Mr Gibson. who was a passenger, was thrown on to the road. He received severe heod injuries, death bein<* instantaneous. Air Hendry and another passenger were not injured. COLLISION WITH TRAM. Two men were taken to hospital as result of o collision between, a motor-cycle and sidecar and a tram m Wallace Street. Wellington. on Saturday evening. Mr E. Morris, mechanic, Vivian Street. fractured his right wrist, and received abrasions and shock. His companion. Air C. Gibson. 09 Main Street, labourer, received injuries to his back and abrasions to his head, and also suffered shook Both men were taken to hospital. DEATH IN HOSPITAL. Knocked down by a motor-car in Customhouse Quay. Wellmgton. on Wednesday last. AD William Henrv White, died in hospital on Saturday morn mg. Air White, who sustained a fracture at the base of the skull and internal injuries, was 7.1 years of a ff«- He lived at 46 Ellice Street, and before his retirement, was in the employ of the Union Steam Ship Company.
